What is Plus Ultra?

Plus Ultra Línea Aéreas is a Spanish airline, founded in 2011 by Julio Martínez Sola and Fernando González Enfedaque, which obtained the Air Operator Certificate in 2015. Its current company name is Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas S.A.

A bit of history…

Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas S.A. was founded in 2011 by a group of Spanish entrepreneurs: Julio Martínez and Fernando González. In July 2015, after obtaining the Air Operator Certificate, a Plus Ultra aircraft took off for the first time. On 4 August 2015, it began operations under the wet lease/ACMI regime, flying to the airports of Madrid, Tenerife, Caracas and Lima. The initial fleet consisted of four Airbus A340-300s. On 15 June 2016 it began scheduled operations, operating flights to Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) and Lima (Peru).

Commercial airline

Plus Ultra will begin scheduled passenger operations, with a long-haul route programme.

The airline provides employment for more than 2,800 people in Spain through 354 direct jobs and more than 2,500 indirect jobs. Many families in Spain depend on the airline’s activity.

In addition, the company has the Air Operator’s certificate and the Operating Licence granted by the Spanish Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) to all Spanish airlines under the guidelines set by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for all European airlines.
