NH goes after the millennial customer with Avani’s expansion in Europe and Latin America
It’s not all about luxury in the hotel segment. NH Hotel Group has announced the expansion in Europe of its lifestyle brand aimed at millennial-minded travellers: Avani Hotels & Resorts.
Designed for people who prioritise service, style and value proposition, Avani is characterised by functionally designed hotels with a unique service offering. As part of the brand’s strategic expansion process, Avani will add five properties in key European cities – one in Spain, two in Spain and two in Spain. One in Spain, two in Italy, one in Germany and, next year, one in the Netherlands. Coinciding with the European expansion, Avani will also launch in South and Central America with hotels in Colombia and Mexico.
The first of the arrivals will be in Spain in June, with the rebranding of the 101-room Avani Alonso Martínez Madrid Hotel. In Italy, the brand will rebrand two hotels – the first in June with the 65-room Avani Palazzo Moscova Milan Hotel, followed in the summer by the 144-room Avani Rio Novo Venice Hotel. Later in the year, Avani will enter Germany, with the rebranding of the 256-room Avani Frankfurt City.
Also in Europe, Avani will enter the Netherlands in 2024 with the rebranding of the 163-room Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam Hotel, located in one of the most touristy areas of the Dutch city, which will open in the second quarter of next year.
The company is also preparing the brand’s move into Latin America with two new additions to the Avani portfolio planned for later this year following the rebranding of two properties. Specifically, the brand will begin operating in one of Central America’s top tourist destinations with the launch of the 140-room Avani Cancun Airport Hotel in Mexico in the third quarter, followed by the 66-room Avani Royal Zona T Bogotá Hotel in Colombia in the fourth quarter.
According to Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels, the expansion of the Avani brand’s presence in Europe and Latin America reflects the group’s strategy to continue to grow and diversify its hotel offering in the upscale tourism segment: “Avani is now a well-established brand in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, known for its great value proposition, design philosophy and unique service offering. The work of the last few years has prepared us to strategically commit to the expansion of Avani into new regions and marks an important milestone for Minor Hotels”.
Ramón Aragonés, CEO of NH Hotel Group, said: “Having this young and fresh brand, which has become a reference in other continents, coming to us from Minor Hotels, will allow us to offer our guests in Europe and Latin America an unparalleled variety of accommodation. The expansion of the brand allows us to have in the same city different proposals of our brands so that our customers can choose according to the experience they want to enjoy. The arrival of Avani is definitely also a milestone for NH Hotel Group.
