Marine Le Pen, leader of the French nationalist party National Rally, has expressed strong disapproval of the campaign of Carles Puigdemont for the Catalan elections from the French town of Argelès-sur-Mer. She described it as “humiliating for France” and stated that it positions the country as a haven for criminals, which she finds “shameful.”
In an interview published on Monday in El Periódico de Cataluña, Le Pen emphasized that if her party wins the elections, “this situation will not last long” and assured that she will be relentless with those who attack legitimate institutions, especially from friendly and allied countries.
Le Pen’s Stance on Puigdemont
Le Pen declared, “If we win the elections, this situation will not last long. We will be relentless with all those who attack the legitimate institutions of their country, especially if they are from friendly and allied countries.” Her firm stance reflects her commitment to defending national sovereignty and the integrity of governmental institutions.
Regarding her border policy proposal for the European Union (EU), which includes establishing a double border system between European countries, Le Pen clarified that it would not change anything for Spanish citizens. Instead, she opposes the admission of immigrants in certain countries who then settle throughout Europe. This stance is part of her broader approach to immigration and national security.
