The President of the Italian Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, has received with honours in Rome the President of Argentina, Javier Milei, who was accompanied by the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Diana Mondino, among others.
Meloni, who received Milei at Palazzo Chigi, described as “positive” a meeting in which they discussed the development of new partnerships in key sectors for both economies “such as energy, infrastructure and agri-food”. “Italy and Argentina have a deep historical and cultural bond that we hope will continue for renewed cooperation in various fields,” he added.
The aim of the meeting, according to Milei’s government, was to “deepen the bilateral relationship” between the two countries, which have always had very strong ties, and to “develop a joint work agenda”. The meeting followed that between Milei and the Italian head of state, Sergio Mattarella, at the Quirinal Palace.
