The company that bought a 7% stake in Prisa adds new entrepreneurs to its board
Global Alconaba, the independent company set up in March that bought 7.076% of Telefónica’s share capital for more than 34 million euros, has appointed new directors, according to DIRCOMFIDENCIAL.
The group has thus changed its legal form from a single-member company, a condition that was met with Andrés Varela Entrecanales as sole director, to form a board of directors, which will be chaired by the latter. Varela Entrecanales was one of the four founders of Globomedia, along with Emilio Aragón, Daniel Écija and José Miguel Contreras, with whom he has subsequently been involved in several professional projects and in the company The Pool Talent Management, one of the production companies that will produce the docu-series about the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez.
The new board of directors will also include Alberto Knapp, founder of the consultancy firm specialising in the design and execution of digital transformation projects The Cocktail, part of WPP.
Juan Fernández Jaquotot, founding partner and chairman of Attitude, an independent company dedicated to wealth and asset management, which has worked for various financial institutions; José Fernández-Velasco, chairman and founder of Zebra Producciones and creator of production companies such as Globomedia, Zeppelin Televisión and Stage España; and Marco Bolognini, a commercial lawyer and co-founder of Maio Legal, a firm specialising in mergers, acquisitions and company restructuring operations, with transnational perspectives, will also join the board.
The group has also appointed Pablo Seguí, a lawyer specialising in commercial law, also at Maio Legal, as secretary non-director. Together with Marco Bolognini, he is also a director of the investment fund Mar Oceana, which recently became a shareholder of Cádiz Club de Fútbol. Gaditano is also another partner in the new company that owns Prisa, Daniel Romero-Andreu, president and founder of Thinking Heads.
Luis García Spinola, director of the tax and fiscal law department of Maio Legal, will be non-director vice-secretary.
The entry of these new directors follows a capital increase carried out by Global Alconaba, amounting to 3.4 million euros.
