VOX delegation demands Von der Leyen’s resignation after EU court ruling: “She cannot remain as president for one more minute”
The General Court of the European Union annulled on Thursday the European Commission’s decision to deny a journalist access to the text messages exchanged between the head of the EU executive, Ursula von der Leyen, and Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla during the negotiation period for the coronavirus vaccine procurement contracts.
From VOX, the head of the delegation in Brussels, Jorge Buxadé, stated that the Commission’s conduct “constitutes an unlawful act and a clear display of the contempt with which the fake elites treat Europeans.” “Just like publishing contracts with the content redacted,” he added.
“We don’t know what they signed, what they committed to, or which future liabilities they intend to avoid. We said it when she sought re-election. Those who voted for Von der Leyen in the European Parliament to lead the Commission made themselves complicit.” “The EPP and the Socialists voted for Von der Leyen,” he recalled.
In this regard, Buxadé declared that von der Leyen “cannot remain as President of the Commission for even one more minute, and those who voted for her must apologize.” “In fact, they should all go home. They spend the whole day lecturing Romanians, Germans, French, or Spaniards… Constantly slandering Orbán, Meloni, or any patriot with lies, while preaching about the Rule of Law. Brussels is a swamp. That’s why Patriotas demands a committee of inquiry into these corruption scandals.”
“From the Pfizer case to Huawei. The connections between bureaucrats and MEPs with Qatar, Morocco, or China. The millions paid to NGOs to influence MEPs’ votes on the Green Deal. The revolving doors for commissioners. Everything is a scandal. Few media outlets will report on this. Today’s condemnation of Ursula is a condemnation of a way of acting. It is a condemnation of the Commission. It is a condemnation of the European People’s Party. It is a condemnation of arrogance and pride. And tomorrow, there will be more. They will hear from us,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, fellow MEP Hermann Tertsch stated: “This European Commission under Von der Leyen and Teresa Ribera has so many skeletons in the closet that it could soon lose all legality and legitimacy, just like the usurping government of Pedro Sánchez — none at all.”
