More than 300 illegal immigrants have reached Spain in just three days
The migratory pressure on Spanish territory has continued to intensify in recent days. In 72 hours, more than 300 illegal immigrants have arrived.
The Canary Islands have once again been the most affected geographical area. On Monday and in the early hours of Tuesday morning, a total of four boats arrived in the archipelago from the Moroccan coast.
The first of the boats, intercepted a few nautical miles off Lanzarote, was made up of a total of 41 illegal immigrants of sub-Saharan and Moroccan origin. According to initial police investigations, they had set off from the coast of the Tan-Tan region (Morocco).
A few hours later, two more boats were added to the previous vessel, with a total of 62 and 57 illegal immigrants respectively, which, after being intercepted in waters close to Fuerteventura, were taken by the Maritime Rescue operations to Puerto del Rosario. They had departed from Tarfaya (Morocco) and were all of sub-Saharan origin.
In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a new boat was detected bound for the Canary Islands. This time it was a “dinghy” with 42 illegal immigrants of sub-Saharan and Moroccan origin that had departed during the night of Monday from the coast of Tarfaya (Morocco). After being assisted by Maritime Rescue, they were taken to Lanzarote.
Lastly – and already in mainland Spain – a boat with five illegal immigrants of Algerian origin was detected on Monday off the coast of Almeria.
