Iberia, Europe’s most punctual airline in July, followed by Air Europa and Vueling
Spain’s Iberia, Air Europa, of which Iberia itself owns 20%, and Vueling, of the IAG group, the same group to which Iberia belongs, top the punctuality podium among the main European airlines in July, according to the international consultancy Cirium (formerly known as FlightStats).
Iberia is the most punctual airline in Europe in July, after 81.2% of the 8,240 flights operated by the Spanish company during that month arrived on time at their destination. The company has highlighted in a statement on Thursday that it has returned for the second consecutive month to be “at the top” of the European podium, despite the operational difficulties of many of the airports in the Old Continent and the USA where it flies.
Air Europa is in second place, with a punctuality rate of 77.8 % for the 4,574 flights operated in July, and the Catalan airline is in third place, with a punctuality rate of 76.2 % for the 21,961 operations carried out during the month.
Iberia and Air Europa are also the most punctual of the European network airlines
Iberia and Air Europa are also the most punctual of the European network airlines, arriving on time on 79.2% of the 14,348 flights operated in July and 77.8% of the 5,916 flights operated in July, followed by Finnair and KLM respectively.
The report also ranks Iberia as the seventh most punctual network airline in the world in July, a ranking led by Brazil’s Azul, followed by Japan’s JAL and ANA.
In addition, its subsidiary Iberia Express is the eighth most punctual low-cost airline in the world in July, after 84.3% of its 3,184 flights operated in that month landed on time, according to the consultancy’s data.
