At least three killed in new Russian attacks on several towns in eastern Ukraine
At least three people have been killed in recent hours as a result of the latest attacks by Russian forces on several towns in eastern Ukraine, regional leaders said on Sunday.
Donetsk governor Vadym Filashkin said the bodies of two people trapped under rubble after an apartment building was hit by a Russian missile late on Saturday night in the city of Kramatorsk had been rescued.
The authorities also reported attacks on infrastructure in the city of Kramatorsk, while in neighbouring Sloviansk a school was destroyed and rescue services were searching for possible victims.
Filashkin reported that two more people were injured and did not rule out the possibility that there were other victims under the rubble. In total, according to his Telegram account, 1,865 people have been killed and 4,577 injured in the Donetsk region as a result of the Russian invasion almost two years ago.
Meanwhile, the governor of Kharkov, Oleg Siniegubov, has reported the death of one person and five wounded after a residential building in the town of Kupiansk was hit by Russian forces last night.
The Ukrainian air force said Sunday that Russia launched six S-300 anti-aircraft missiles, three Kh-22 anti-ship missiles and one Kh-59 cruise missile last night, as well as some 15 drones, most of which were neutralised before reaching their targets.
