At least one person has died and eight are trapped under the rubble following the partial collapse of a hotel located in the town of Krov, in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, in western Germany, about 100 kilometers west of Frankfurt.
“Several people managed to leave the building on their own and are being treated by emergency services and authorities,” police said on Wednesday, adding that some were seriously injured.
Nearby buildings have been evacuated for fear that the building might collapse completely. The cause of the incident, which occurred during the night, is currently unknown.
